Fanns på flottiljen mellan 1948-1958. Några av flygplanen modifierades till transportflygplan, med beteckningen TP-73. Beväpningen togs bort och fönster insattes i skrovet. Antal flygplan i Flygvapnet var 56 st i dess tjänst mellan 19371958. Spännvidd 22,7 m, längd 17,86 m, operativ höjd 7200 m, flyghastighet 300 km/tim, flygplanen var utrustade med 2 st motorer Pratt & Whitney HORNET SIE G/2 på 750 hk, Nohab Mercury III, Nohab Mercury XII, Nohab Mercury XXIV på 980 hk samt en polsk Nohab Mercury XIX. Tidigare hade vi i Sverige haft ganska små lätta dukklädda flygplan. B-3 var ett stort helmetallplan med två motorer och kunde bära med sig ett ton last. Flygplanets tankar rymde 1700 liter bränsle och hade 4 mans besättning. Startvikten var 8000 kg. Endast ett flygplan finns bevarat det finns på Flygvapenmuseum.
